Finally. . .BAM!!!  The final image is painted in Photoshop.

The following images show the process it took to end up with the final image shown above. . .

First I create a small concept sketch to get the general idea down on paper.

I then create a more finished drawing based on that initial sketch.

Next, I refine the drawing where improvements are needed.  For example, most of the characters in the foreground are now facing outward.

I then scan the drawing and do a quick color concept in Photoshop.
